Blue Max was awarded RID status in February 2007 at the IDHS Stallions Inspections and is now 7 yrs old and currently standing at just 16.0hh. This very handsome young stallion is the image of Blue Henry with the same cheeky character but also possesses an endearing very laid back outlook to everything. He has 9.75 inches of good clean bone and is very correct in his conformation. Following in his sire's footsteps this beautifully moving young stallion shows an abundance of athleticism in flatwork and tremendous scope and boldness over jumps. Blue Max is a quality purebred stallion by Blue Henry, one of the most influential Irish Draught sires. He has an impressive nine and three-quarter inch bone, superb light and extravagant free flowing paces which he has inherited from both his sire and dam. Clannad Bess has also produced prizewinning and champion stock from a number of sires and this combination is certainly destined to be a very successful one. Max has a lovely expressive head, full bold eyes and shows all the attributes of a quality Irish Draught. He has a cheeky but very gentle nature about him. He has three super paces on the flat and a remarkable talent over the jumps.  He attended the Annual Breed show last year, his first big outing and had lots of admirers.

Max is currently working towards a dressage/jumping career and hopefully in the future we would wish him to undertake the NaSTA Performance Test as Henry did. He is producing very pleasing progeny, snapshots of some of them can be seen using the following link. Blue Max Progeny also view Max at his first training session at Hoplands.

Blue Gray Perhaps a pure Irish Draught Stallion by Rakish Paddy out of our wonderful foundation mare Clannad Bess, who has produced many quality offspring for us. His temperament was delightful, he had powerful movement with light free and ground covering and he ran with his mares. Perhaps unfortunately suffered a fractured hind leg whilst running out with visiting mares and had to be destroyed.  His presence is very sadly missed. He was a handsome perfect gentleman, very affectionate and kind.  He had 10 inches of bone and strong limbs and he passes this onto his offspring. Perhaps spent a season hunting and his manners and attitude were impeccable. He produced good moving offspring with quality and bone and in particular of cob type when used with the smaller stocky mare. He has a number of lightweight and heavyweight cobs currently competing. click on the link to view some of his cob progeny. We have mares in foal to him for 2011

Who said Cobs can't be bred?

When crossed with the thoroughbred he produces again quality with bone and substance, good strong limbs with a powerful hock, ideal sort for eventing, showjumping, a good athletic example though rarely maturing more than 16.2hh. Perhaps was a Grade 2 Irish Draught (why? we have never understood as he had all the attributes of a fine stallion and this is evident in his offspring that we think are superb. All that have used him have been delighted with the result. Take a look at the New Arrivals page, Stock for Sale or Who Said Cob's Can't be Bred page to view some of his youngstock.
